At the start of this entry, I thought Derm was talking about the re-usability of concept in games - I was going to point out Sonic vs Mario - re-used so much as to now allow Sonic vs Mario in olympic sports. This is not what Derm was alluding to...

I remember those barcode games, a random choice of beans vs lasange strips could mean David vs Goliath (I never played this...I wish I had - at the time and even now).

The concept at hand: [Lose/Lose] You lose at a game, you lose your computer assets (if you lose a life in the scrolling shooter - you have files deleted from our computer's hard disk). This reminds me of a David Kronenberg film, where irreality meet reality. The whole point of games is to escape reality.

Some think gaming is for those afraid of life, those who are afraid to be hurt by real issues. This makes gaming as masochistic as some think it should be. It's a bit frightening :S

PS. Am I trying to steal Derms blog? He pays the bandwidth...I might as well! :P

Hey - this is a great idea, man! Are these just your own comics for sale or did someone sell you a job lot recently? The Robotech are intreguing as I've stated in a previous communication (aren't we all spoilt for communication pathways nowadays - this is the future and everything...!).

Do you know what I'm really looking for, my man? A copy of the hardback Robotech RPG, or any of the Art of Robotech (there are several volumes). These things would be superfluous to my life, though I still desire these things none the less. They would be a bonus prize.
