Hi, If you know me you’ll know i got fascinated with Mystery Science theatre 3000 years ago and the Gentlemen that provided so many laughs over the years have been back for a while with their Newer project RIFFTRAX, I heartily recommend you dig through your DVD collection for that one horrible movie you never want to see again and find the suitable riff track for it. it will be most assuredly worth your while.

Until you do here is a Set of liner notes i did last week when i was bored watching The tuxedo followed by Halloween Resurrection. Out of context only some of it retains its humour and if i had the tiem i would go and record the whole thing but since I’m a busy working man nowadays you will simply just have to take the word as law.

If you want cheap Random comics I always recommend going to your Local Forbidden Planet, I go in once a month and pick up their Back issue packs

4 Comics for £1 (i usually buy around £40 worth) If you purchased 3 TPB’s you’d be lucky to get change for £40 (Mattering on the TPB’s of course) I actually find that along side this back issue sale there is a large amount of Trades for reduced price either damaged slightly or being reprinted in some manner this applies to Manga as well. Over the years I’ve gotten entire runs of Harlem beat/Rebound along with random excellent Trades (a recent acquisition of The recent Run of Swamp thing)

Being able to look at the back and front of pack you can decided on which to purchase (If both front and back of pack have something you’ve never read…buy it etc) worst case scenario you get duplicates with the other two comics but then your Simply paying 50p per back issue for runs of comics your either interested in or want to fill in the gaps.

Ill admit during DC’s 52 i got hooked on this (Because i managed to get the entire single issue run for about £15) and i got burned bad by all the 52 aftermath/Countdown/search for…/Lord havok (Fscking Lord havok!) spin offs But you’ll find each month the Content will change currently I’m reading through the Dark reign Marvel Storyline (They must have a time limit for back issues and automatically put unsold issues in the packs after 6-8 months)

So to comic fans out there go build a ridiculous collection for a Fraction of the original cover price. Everything’s in >8.0 condition as well.

Well, No, I am not going to announce something as stupid as that considering i ad the site down as of late due to me being Broke and cheap. until i realised someone paid a portion of my hosting bill and all i had to do was Domain name register for another couple of years.

So we are on the airwaves as it were the Wi-Fi waves more appropriately and i have no Story to ring in the new year, Never to fear however articles are in the brewing among other stuff i haven’t been completely in Active. I’ve been fiddling about with spray paint and putting together a story structure for ‘Garden House’ along with a little crap camera photography so stick around for news reviews and creative spews.

So Instead of posting on this blog recently I’ve embarked on a little art project, I  intend to transform my Flat into a small art installation what its going to require is massive Sheets of paper/ Somewhere that prints A2, an xacto knife (We don’t have those here in Ireland apparently, So instead Craft knifes) and a bunch of time.

You may or may not know i Purchased a Wacom Bamboo pen tablet a few months back and I’ve been getting to grips with it and building up my digital drawing speed (From 4 hours to trace something to 2) I’m so talented (-_-)

Below you’ll see a few bits and pieces I’ve done getting me to grips with Vector Art/ Layering etc. Its bizarre how proficient i was at this back when i had accrued a portfolio of digital and hand drawn art at the age of 16 but its all managed to abandon me now I’m a talentless adult. Too much Playing video games robbed me of my artistic faculties ALERT THE PRESS!

Well, Ladies and gents , i have appeared from the shadows once more to post onto this blog, The reason for my absence since my last post just before my submission of my dissertation has simply been due to being busy doing nothing. Its a strange convergence of having so much to do and having plenty of plans but sadly their co-dependence for completion that makes it impossible to do a single one.

I started with the movement of my media centre pc to the living room and hooking it directly up to the Tv. Meaning that the living room is now wired for sound and there is no slow (or network breaking) transcoding. (see Inserted picture)

The necessity of this due to the sad fact that my Xbox has fluxed itself into another reality, Currently I’m waiting for its pickup and repair but it is the last straw that broke the camels back. The slave i have been for consoles and for gaming is a long and glorious history from my first NES (Nintendo mind you not a Mattel one) to this current generation of consoles, about 6 months ago i abandoned the Wii as a platform after a debacle of trying to load Super Smash Bros Brawl, Simply by not playing my Wii for prolonged periods of time i was unable to play a brand new game because of a dirty lens and with the compact and sealed nature of the wii that required another purchase of cleaner, in my now addled mind that was a form of daylight robbery. instead of be held by the reigns of a capitalist teet for having better things to do that perfect my wii bowling skills i found it a necessity to trade the console in along with my never played copy of Brawl. This act in itself was the first of many gates from a dyed in the wool game player to casual, the whole process strangely inverse compared to the actual purpose of the console to bring in casual audiences.

I originally planned on doing regular reviews of games here in the blog but I renounce my game filled days. I’ll still find the occasional interesting object to drag me back to the world of games but i hereby renounce my love of games for the purpose of playing them the 360 in my home had become a media extender more than a games console the only occasions i would dig out more than one pad was for my compatriots enjoyment of a game of PES or for me to school a few of them in Street Fighter for being for being trounced on the former game.

If this was the only reason i didn’t dig out a controller other than for menu selections i wouldn’t have minded to much due to a beautiful history i have had with rpg’s but sadly even the lustre that solo gameplay once had for me is gone. This was compounded by a string of RPG’s that simply didn’t excite me. Infinite Undiscovery Made me run from the first battle while The last remnant’s combat system and variable difficulty of enemies cause me to lose hours of play due to not saving.I’m sure i missed the boat on all the malarkey that has currently ensued in recent Square-enix releases from Final fantasy 12 onwards mostly due to my early abandonment of the Play station 2 but which these changes i have found that with the more complex combat systems have removed the reliance on the emotionally attached storylines. This might be a change of guard in the story departments but it also reflects on the current state of gaming and its public perception. The absence of a gripping yet emotional relationship between the main characters more specifically the romance between a lead male and female character which took a macrocosm of world protection from some great evil and made it a personal tale of love may have been the perfect ingredient for immersion from the 90’s has given way to plots of generals and troops and the borders of conflict between countries.

The best articulation of this premise may be found in Final fantasy 8 which detached the character from the body politic by making them mercenary characters trained to be above the conflict for the purpose of pay but in the end involved them even more due to the casts combined past. This basis of personal tales building to encompass the world at a later date is inverted in stories like infinite Undiscovery. , The world of politics is important to the world where a prince and pauper hybrid story becomes the basis of the tale while in Last remnant you are conscripted into an army even with your own personal goal set aside until a later date. both of these games lost me early on and while the combat systems and the story would have developed they lacked the killer hook that final fantasy 8 contained in its first hour of play (The coastal attack at the communications tower)

The Entire Public image of gaming has changed over the years and the socially reclusive aspect of gaming has been abandoned for a more aggressive and public performance. This abandonment of an emotional and solitary core is the path of gaming in the future and sadly i don’t see any place in it for myself.

So let us remember the couples of the past Squall and Rinoa, Tidus and Yuna, Chrono and Elena, Link and Zelda fondly for what they represented a tutorial for the perceived socially inept. A reflection of a public image of gaming that has long since been abandoned.

As a postscript i would like to point out that Lost odyssey was the last Square Rpg to really grip me and it was most assuredly not due to its "rings system" it was because at any time you could be treated to an emotional flashback that served nothing to the plot. May it be the epitaph to my link to solo gaming like my own odyssey that has lost its purpose.

It is the beginning of the end, the departure of delights and a step into a world which offers me no excitement. I’m in my final days of university I haven’t met any permanent friends in my final 2 years of classes and have drifted listlessly from day to day with a minimal impact on school politics or on the culture of university as a microcosm of the greater world it never bodes well to feel like there is nothing achieved.

Yet I do not walk out of this simply uninitiated there’s many ways to exist in this world, there is the distinct possibility that one can achieve greatness or be the provider of means to greatness it’s a terrible loss to ones self to navel gaze forever so making this departure as a graduate offers the possibility of a new future one that isn’t quite yet written or perceived. It is possible to view these as the ramblings of a navel-gazing idiot but it is also the possibility on a multi-universal level the announcement of great intent. In one space I didn’t make the effort to write this, in another I had an assistant already who did it for me and in this one I stand upon the praecipes of a new adventure into the world of all the serious thinking and hard working individuals the spend everyday in anonymity.

No one peaks if they have limitless energy, no one falls low if they never try. Remember that every act is the beginning of something new never the conclusion of something that went before, this is a flawed philosophy I have followed for years. It leads to a noncommittal choice to do ’something’ and. Never see it through. If you know how to be decisive and have willpower the abilities you have flourish through the process of tempering otherwise you become a socially impacted jack of al trades without a focus much like this monologue on my own human condition.

Let’s do the minor checklist of things I’ve done that interested me while at uni. I’ve been a radio presenter for a marginally funny news radio show for queens radio, I’ve done voice acting as an amateur for voiceactingalliance.co.uk, I’ve been in 3 student films acting for queens film society, the last of which is in postproduction hell still, I worked as an extra for Seacht (irish language drama made for RTE), Lived as a sub warden for 3 years in Grant House.

Not exactly job material but hey you blend all those together you’ve got a pretty good story for a Manga. Which I wouldn’t recommend doing btw to any of this passers by who read my journal I would personally take it as an invitation to do something very mean like um… Well I dunno kick your dog? I promise I’ll think of something much more threatening sooner or later.

Well, the only thing I can say is a repetition of some of the other punters expressed that it was underwhelming the reasoning as to why is probably to do with how the crowd were separated into a pair of encampments. Those who wished for a political rally and those who were there for light comedy, the strange matter of the mix of patrons of Which I was on the light-hearted side because I had never seen a mark Thomas show before. Sometimes people just appear that have been making a change in the world for the better and it makes you feel a little shallow like a unintentional pimp-slap with a side of holier than thou. Mark Thomas came across without the holier attitude which is maybe the only reason I laughed so much. I’m glad for once I checked out a show that was motivating just because it had the weight of life experience kind of like watching the Dave Gorman adventures but with more wide social responsibility. Just to finish this quick post I hate the manifesto addition Belfast decided upon. no more pyjamas outside, it seems a little sad we couldn’t take it a little seriously well to the library after 1 more episode of rescue me

One might say that deadwood is a dark and unflinching replication of the old west but the world in which such violence and eloquent swearing transplants it from the simple re-enactment of a period. the elements of character development in the more sociopathic character in the second season (without ruining the plot) is such a refreshing presence in a wholly unsavoury manner that you may be forgiven for just brushing it aside as an artefact of the time period. The Machiavelli attitude of the this one Individual and their eloquent and "book learnin" portrays a beautifully shorthanded representation also attributed to a film such as American psycho. The culture of America may reward such nihilistic and self serving tendencies but in prolonged exposure such an individual must be placed among those of such karmic imbalance that they will be done away with in a ingenious and satisfactory manner, I look forward to the conclusion of such a storyline, but that begs the question who will be the one to finish the story. I’m so glad for the role lovejoy (Ian McShane to the British tv luddites) plays as the definitive frontier justice with a ragged edge, The man willing to look into the abyss and take a little of the darkness as his weapon. Inversely the fiercely proud bullock (Oliphant) is the one character who as the law only reacts to the very public disturbances and I doubt I see his actions as the executioner of such darkness in his character, besides the point of his own personal issues is yet to be resolved.

I cannot recommend the show enough my own late arrival to such a Gem is via Charlie Brooker make sure you check out anything he gives a flagging in the future. The mans got a keen eye. if you’ve never heard of him think of it as the original ben ‘Yatzhee’ Croshaw

Hello world okay app testing is over finally found my combination of productivity and entertainment with the selection of emulators to alleviate boredom. Along side that for entertainment I have chosen a feed reader that combines with Google reader however that still requires input from me to link all my feeds that will be a project for another time just goes to show how unproductive I can be distracted from this message by another idea I’ll talk more about technology and the delightful fun of playing with a phone later
